Dr. Amy Untied, Psy.D. is a licensed Clinical Psychologist with over a decade of experience specializing in evidence-based treatment of trauma, anxiety, depression, couple therapy, and general behavioral health concerns. Dr. Untied’s commitment to women’s behavioral health drives her desire to create a safe, judgment-free space for her clients to overcome barriers to realize their goals.

Dr. Untied conceptualizes client concerns and develops treatment plans using a cognitive-behavioral approach. She has extensive training in several treatments including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Depression (CBT-D), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT),
Prolonged Exposure (PE), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy (IBCT) and Cognitive-Behavioral Conjoint Therapy for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (CBCT-PTSD).

Dr. Untied completed her bachelor's degree (BA) with departmental honors at Ohio University studying Psychology and Sociology/Criminology. She earned her doctorate and master’s degree (M.A., Psy.D.) at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Expanding on previous undergraduate research in conceptualizing sexual assault, Dr. Untied’s graduate research focused on sexual assault risk awareness.

Prior to joining CWW, Dr. Untied served as a clinical psychologist and Assistant Director of Training at the WJB Dorn VA Medical Center. Her range of clinical experiences also include a college counseling center, neuropsychological & disability assessment, and private practice. In additional to university teaching roles, Dr. Untied has served on several local and state organizations and boards including serving as a past Board Member of the Ohio Psychological Association (OPA). She has written numerous peer reviewed journal publications and book chapters about trauma and she has presented at several conferences across the country on the topics of trauma prevention, alcohol expectancies, rural psychology, and integrated care.

Dr. Untied is an active member of the American Psychological Association (APA), APA Division 35 – Society for the Psychology of Women, and the Ohio Psychological Association.
