Kristy M. J. Amos is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) who is passionate about empowering and supporting her clients to recognize and utilize their strengths to reach their goals. Ms. Amos emphasizes the importance of building a supportive and non-judgmental rapport that allows her clients to feel safe as they work towards their self-potential. In her clinical approaches of evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy, Ms. Amos employs a client-centered approach focusing on her client’s strengths as catalysts toward change.
Ms. Amos earned her Bachelor of Psychology (BA) from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, and her Master of Social Work (MSW) from Arizona State University. Ms. Amos’s clinical experience spans a broad range of environments. Her clinical work in these specialized environments offers a unique dossier in her experience with women and teen girls. Prior to joining CWW, Ms. Amos provided behavioral health services to patients and families at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Additionally, Ms. Amos has provided clinical support in crisis response for human trafficking survivors, rehabilitation for those with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, and mothers with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. In her continued pursuit to hone her expertise in her work with perinatal women, Ms. Amos is a Perinatal Mental Health Certified (PMH-C) provider having completed extensive training through Postpartum Support International.
In addition to her clinical role at CWW, Ms. Amos provides individual and group supervision to Licensed Social Workers working toward independent licensure.
