Lorrie A. Workman Licensed Independent Social Worker with a Supervisory designation (LISW-S). With over 15 years of clinical experience, Ms. Workman enjoys all aspects of individual and family therapy with specialized interests in the roles and experiences of women (children, family, disability, geriatric, dependency, marriage, and caretaking). To help her clients build upon progress and create additional movement toward goals, Ms. Workman uses a systems perspective to understand the basis for behaviors and potential levers for change using an assortment of empirically and evidence-based approaches. By applying Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Solution Focus Therapy (SFT) approaches, Ms. Workman supports clients as they realize change by an empowered self.
Ms. Workman received her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology from The Ohio State University before receiving her Master of Social Work (MSW) and Master of Arts (M.A.) in Public Policy and Management, both from The Ohio State University. Ms. Workman is board-certified by the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board and holds an additional certification from The Ohio Department of Education. Ms. Workman’s clinical practice, training, research, and service has spanned a wide range of settings that include residential and outpatient clinics, supportive and educational groups, schools, and communities. These experiences have culminated into a deeper understanding of the forces that can impact the individual and the environment from which they come to CWW and the environments in which they function.
In addition to being an active member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), Ms. Workman has served on the NASW’s Ethics Committee. Ms. Workman firmly believes in the importance of meeting clients where they are while creating a safe and empathetic environment for change.
